Dear future Au-pair,
We are a family of 4, mum Vera (42), dad Bernie (43), Hanna (7) and Frida (2). With us lives our 9 year old Flat-Coated Retriever, Murphy.
We live in a small village called Seelbach in the Black Forrest in South-West Germany. Its situated in beautiful countryside - 50km from Freiburg and Strassbourg in France and close to Basel in Switzerland. The next bigger city called Lahr and is 15min away by car, but you can also take the bus or cycle, because there are great cycling paths.
We all speak English and German including Hanna, who is bi-lingual. Of course we would support you in doing a language course, which would take place in Lahr, usually twice a week.
We are looking for a loving au-pair to join our family and support us a bit in our day to day life, looking after little Frida and being a companion for Hanna. For us, it’s important that you are an integrated part of our family, but also have enough time for yourself.

Description des tâches

We would like you to look after Hanna and Frida mainly and sometimes support us in walking Murphy, if you feel like it. It would involve getting Hanna ready in the morning for school including making sure she gets dressed, has breakfast and preparing her lunch box. She walks to school on her own. In addition you would need you to drop and pick-up Hanna from sports a couple of times a week and play with her when she comes back from school or support her, making sure she does her home work. She goes to after school club 3 days a week and 2 afternoons she is home and you would also need to prepare lunch on those days. Hanna loves to play with our current aupair including, role plays, play ground, arts and crafts or play football etc.
We also would like you to look after Frida in the afternoons and bring her to Kindergarten some mornings and help getting her ready in the morning and preparing her lunch box.
When Vera travels ( about once a month) it would be great if you could walk Murphy in the mornings 45min-1h, if you want to. Our current Aupair loves him, so it helps :-)
As for housework we would like you to empty the dishwasher when you can and maybe get some washing into the machine and dryer, but that is really it for housework as we have someone supporting us with housework as well.
Besides your salary we also provide you with a mobile contract and Deutschlandticket for the train.

Logement de l'Au Pair

We live in a lovely house from the 1950s with a big garden and views to the forrest. You would have your own room, including desk, sofa, TV and 'walk-in wardrobe'. In addition you will have private bathroom, but we need to bath the kids in the bathtub sometimes, otherwise well use a separate bathroom. You will also have use of a car and an electric cargo bike, normal bike, so you can be flexible when picking up Hanna from sports or want to explore the area.
