Hello! My name is Lauren, I'm 20 years old, I'm from New York, and I'm going into my third year of college. I am majoring in Special Education and English, and planning to either be a middle school English teacher or work in Special Education! I would like to be an Au Pair because I am very passionate about working with children and am eager to gain more experience working with children of all different abilities. I love to help and build relationships with others and I wish to do this with the family that I am with, as well as to find myself exploring and integrating into a new place and community. Midway through June, I am returning to work at a sleepaway camp for children with special needs, including autism, so I am available to Au Pair from March until this time. I am in the process of transferring colleges for the fall, taking the semester away from school, and I would love to work with a family as an au pair in the meantime and gain further experience. I have experience working with children of all ages and abilities, ranging from a summer job nannying and mothers helping with a year-old baby to working with nonverbal 18-year-olds at my camp. I also have experience working in schools and classrooms with middle and high schoolers from fieldwork with my education courses. I am a friendly, caring, and calm person, and from working at different camps as well as studying abroad in Scotland, I can easily adapt to new situations.
