Beijing, China | Single Mom + 7-Year-Old Mix-blood Daughter | Spacious Courtyard Home

Dear Au Pair,

My name is Alicia, and I’m a single mother living with my 7-year-old mix-blood （Chinese and Irish) daughter Charlotte in a peaceful suburban area just outside the city center. We live in a spacious home with a lovely courtyard garden—ideal for relaxing, playing, and enjoying slow mornings.

I am a native Chinese , but speak fluent English. Charlotte attends a French international school and is a bright, curious, and creative child. She speaks Chinese, English and French. We are now hoping to welcome an English or French-speaking au pair into our home to enrich her language environment and offer her a window into another culture through daily interaction.

I’ve lived with and worked alongside people from many different countries. Charlotte’s father is Irish, and we often travel between countries, so we’re very open-minded, respectful of personal space and boundaries, and value honest communication. At home, I enjoy cooking various cuisines (when time allows!), although during weekdays, we have a lovely housekeeper who prepares Chinese dinners and keeps the home clean and organized. You’ll have lots of flexibility and free time to explore or rest.

We enjoy road trips and self-driving getaways, and if you love to explore or be surrounded by nature, I think you’ll find our lifestyle quite enjoyable. If you can drive, that’s a big plus—though not a must.

We’re looking for a warm, responsible, and kind-hearted young woman with good language skills and ideally some experience with children. We hope you can become not only a language role model for Charlotte, but also a cultural companion for our family.

?️ You’ll have your own private room, Wi-Fi and VPN access, and shared use of the kitchen and garden.

?️ Meals are provided, and you are welcome to cook or explore local cuisine as you wish.

? We expect light support (around 25-30hours/week) including: reading. Tutoring and playing with Charlotte, and joining us for occasional family activities.
? If you are studying Chinese or interested in cultural exchange, we will do our best to support you.
