Dear Host Family,

I am a curious and conscientious girl, born and bred in Sweden. I live in a house with my mother and a dachshund named Pandora, and I have an older sister. I love children, dogs and travelling. I have always been drawn to Italy and southern Europe and its culture, and I adore Italian food, not to mention the beautiful language. At this point in my life I would like to take a break from studies to work abroad.

I am told I am mature and responsible for my age, and I enjoy being busy and take initiatives. I like to have an active life. I enjoy teaching and playing with children. One of my field practices in junior high school was spent in a classroom with middle school children, I enjoyed that very much. I am used to helping my mum with housework and keeping the house tidy, and I tend to get along with most people. I also enjoy cooking, -and believe it or not, I like cleaning and organizing because I find it so relaxing and satisfying.

I have excellent references from my current and previous work positions. I have been babysitting for friends and relatives and I just finished an internship at a daycare taking care of 1-3 year olds, -which I loved. I am told I am a good people-person. I have also worked as a youth leader in my church, leading activities and mentoring young people just a bit younger than myself. I keep being asked back for work as they are pleased with my contributions and the youngsters view me as a role model and a “big-sister”.
