Hello dear future host family!
Here is a short motivational letter to get a better view into my intentions about being an au pair. I would describe myself as a social and extroverted person. I also have a strong work ethic and always try to give my best, whether it's in my studies, work, or hobbies. I love dancing — I actually danced competitively for ten years. These days, I still enjoy dancing for fun, but I’ve become more into hiking and taking long walks with my dog. I also love to cook and bake. I’m definitely a dog person, but I really love all animals. I enjoy visiting places like galleries, museums, aquariums, and other culture or nature-related spots.
I’m currently studying at university and will receive my bachelor’s degree in pedagogy and sociology this September. After that, I plan to continue my studies and pursue a master’s degree in social studies, but before that I want to travel for some time and gain some more experience with kids.
Alongside my studies, I also work most weekends. I work at a weekend day-care, where we go for walks, visit the zoo, explore museums, do arts and crafts and do various fun and educational activities together. In the summer, I work as a camp counsellor, where I look after children for about ten days at a time. We usually go on holiday either near the mountains or by the seaside, and it’s always a rewarding experience. In my free time, I try to spend as much time as possible with my younger brother and cousins. We’re very close, and I really value the time we spend together. So for the past four years I have spent a lot of time with kids and I truly enjoy it very much.
I love spending time with kids in general and enjoy building strong connections with them. Becoming an au pair is a great opportunity for me to get to know a new family and experience how people live in a different part of the world. I’m excited about learning from this experience and gaining skills that will help me in my future work with children. At the same time, I hope to create meaningful relationships not only with the kids but also with the whole family. It’s a chance to explore a new culture, broaden my horizons, and potentially find a family I can stay connected with for years to come.
