As I prepare to be an au pair in Italy this summer, I am already looking forward to September and the opportunity to work with a family for a few months. I have a strong foundation in childcare, with extensive experience as a nanny and special needs teaching assistant. I have worked with children of all ages, including those with additional needs like Autism and ADHD. I have completed several courses to enhance my knowledge and skills in childcare. Experiência com crianças

As a part-time university student studying childhood and youth studies, I have gained valuable experience working with children over the past few years through schools and volunteering. While I have not been an au pair before, I am meticulous about the entire process and eager to take on this new role abroad. My passion for children and my love for travel has led me to consider becoming an au pair. I have had the opportunity to travel with my family in the past, and I believe becoming an au pair abroad would be the perfect way to combine my interests.

The idea of becoming an au pair was suggested to me by my God-Father, who lives in Australia with his family. At the time, I was 19 and had just completed my foundation diploma in fine art. Unsure of what career path to pursue, becoming an au pair seemed like an exciting and fulfilling opportunity. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted my plans, and I ended up working in a special needs school as COVID cover. This experience allowed me to develop a deep connection with the children and fall in love with the job. Over the next three years, I worked as a teaching assistant in both mainstream and special needs schools while also studying for my childhood and youth studies degree online.

Working with children and pursuing my degree simultaneously proved to be a win-win situation. However, I would feel a strong desire to travel and explore the world every few months. I genuinely adore children and have a genuine desire to help them grow and learn about the world. Combining this passion with the opportunity to travel would be genuinely unique. My previous experiences working with children and my ongoing studies make me feel more equipped than ever to embark on this au pair journey.
