i worked with a little boy from 11 months to 2.5 years old, and it was the most incredible experience of my life. i taught him how to communicate with his hands before he spoke, i taught him how to speak english and french, i taught him pattern recognition, used sensory activities to expand his curiosity, i taught him how to recognize shapes/patterns/numbers/letters. one of my favourite things to teach, was patience and self regulation. i am most proud of how i was able to watch such a small mind accomplish a self-respect level that will be carried on to his older days. i value teaching a connection to self and know how important it is to have good repetition and explanation levels when trying to teach/communicate with them.
i would love to be abroad because truthfully, i dont connect to my city. i have hit the ceiling of what i accomplish here and i seek so much more than what i have. there are limited opportunities to include me in my passions/hobbies, which makes it feel quite lonely. i only have my mom and brother left in my family, and i dont do anything but work because there is nothing else to do. i want to nanny abroad because i value connection and love to grow my mind in new places. i like being challenged and shown different ways to do good things. i love learning about culture and would rather be submersed in it than to learn online, i am fascinated by the hope to see something more. seeing it through the eyes of a family though, would be a life long dream.
