Hello Future Host Family!

I’m Esme — a fun, loving, and creative soul who thrives on connection and exploration. While I enjoy social time, I also love recharging solo, often seeking out cozy coffee shops or quiet parks wherever I go. I started my own jewellery line at 18 and have a passion for supporting independent makers around the world.

Hospitality and cooking have always been close to my heart. Though I usually cook for myself, I’d happily bake fresh bread for your family daily if you like! I’m excited to grow my confidence cooking for a family and adapting to everyone’s tastes.

My childcare experience is broad and heartfelt. I’ve worked with children from newborns to teens in various nanny and babysitting roles over the years. Recently, I’ve been the “cool aunt” to two little ones, Izzy (6) and Jasper (3), whom I care for weekly. Together, we bake, play, explore nature, read, draw, bike, swim — and sometimes nap! I love how working with children reconnects me with my inner child and allows me to see the world through fresh, joyful eyes.

I come from a close-knit family of four siblings and was raised in a small village near York. As a farmer’s daughter, I cherish country walks but feel at home in towns and cities too — a balance that suits my personality and lifestyle.

Living and working in New Zealand and Bali has shaped my independent and adaptable nature. Bali especially captured my heart with its ocean and vibrant culture, and I’m excited to bring my love for this beautiful island into my work.

Experiência com crianças

While this would be my first formal au pair or nanny role abroad, I have valuable childcare experience from looking after friends’ & family's children during my time in New Zealand, as well as babysitting for various families over the years. I’ve cared for children ranging from newborns to teenagers and most recently regularly babysit my niece and nephew, aged 6 and 3. We enjoy activities like baking, outdoor play, reading, and exploring — all nurturing their creativity and curiosity. I’m patient, responsible, and deeply attuned to children’s emotional needs. I practice emotional regulation techniques, helping children to understand and manage their feelings with compassion and calm, creating a supportive and safe environment. A child's growth & happiness is important to me . Though new to a formal role, my hands-on experience and genuine connection with kids give me confidence in my ability to care for and engage with children warmly and attentively.

I’m passionate about travel, cultural exchange, and childcare, and becoming an au pair abroad beautifully combines these interests. I’m eager to immerse myself in a new culture, build meaningful connections, and contribute positively to a family’s daily life. With a background in creative business and marketing — a joy that developed during the years I spent building my own jewellery brand — I’ve always been drawn to work that’s people-focused, expressive, and ever-evolving. Supporting a child’s growth and curiosity feels like a natural extension of that same joy: nurturing something meaningful with care, creativity, and consistency. I look forward to creating a loving home away from home and embracing this exciting new chapter.
