Hello! My name is Alana. I’m a German/ American girl who has lived and travelled all over the world. I’m currently pursuing my undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado, Boulder but decided to take some time to gain more experience from life and what it has to offer outside of a classroom.

I want to become an Au Pair because I recently discovered that I’m uncertain of what I want to pursue (career-wise), however I know that I enjoy dedicating my time to working with other people. Therefore, I thought that becoming an Au Pair would be a good opportunity for me to engage in something I enjoy doing, while taking the time to learn what I am most passionate about.
The concept of becoming an Au Pair is really intriguing to me because you’re able to go abroad and immerse yourself in an entirely new culture as well as learn a new language alongside the kids you’re taking care of. With the experience I gathered from travelling and learning multiple languages I believe this would be a good fit for me in addition to building onto my experience with child care.

I’m 18 years old now but will be 19 by the time I hope to become an Au Pair. I’ve worked 5 different jobs and a couple of different volunteering programs, where I feel I’ve gained a lot of experience with working with children. I’ve had various babysitting jobs, one family with whom I worked for a little over a year before I moved away. I’ve also taken good care of family friends' kids and understand that it is a big responsibility I’m willing to take on.
To the family who will host me, I promise to do my best communicating and understanding the expectations/ boundaries you expect of me. I want to learn to be the best Au Pair I can be in order to meet all your needs and help you out as much as I can.
Some of my strongest skills include: languages (English, Spanish, German -Native in all), organization, and time management skills. It is because of these reasons that I believe I would be a good candidate to become an Au Pair for your family.
