My name is Charlotte, and I am a 22-year-old female. I’m from Prince Edward Island, Canada, where I grew up with my parents and two sisters. We are a loving family who genuinely enjoy each other’s company, so I am a very family-oriented person. I’m very close with both of my sisters, but since I am the middle child, I find I have different relationships with each. My older sister and I are very much like friends, whereas I often find myself acting more motherly to my younger sister. Personally, I love getting to experience both dynamics. I believe that Au Pairing is a great opportunity for me to travel to new places while still feeling this familiar sense of family and home.

Growing up I played multiple high-level sports, such as ice hockey, and was constantly a member of some sort of team. This allowed me to learn many transferrable skills such as making friends, taking constructive criticism, being a team player, and adhering to schedules. In the summertime, I work as a server and bartender, continuing to be a team with my coworkers. We can compromise when somebody needs a shift changed, we delegate tasks to each other fairly, and we excel at time management. These are all abilities I possess, and I feel would make me a great asset to your family as an Au Pair!

I am a very easygoing person! I find life much more enjoyable when it's lived without too much over-planning, and you have the opportunity to come across a new adventure or memory. Plans that are made on short notice and even nights that don't go according to plan are some of my favourite memories with friends! I find stressing over the small stuff can often be a waste of our energy, so I always try to focus on the positives (or at least what alternatives we have). Alongside my very go-with-the-flow attitude, I am also a very happy and outgoing person. I absolutely love people and adore making sincere friendships of all kinds! I have friends I hang out with when I want to enjoy a quiet book by the beach and others that I know will always leave us with a good story to tell. As long as we share similar levels of things such as kindness, fun-seeking, and a good attitude then I am open arms for meeting new people!

I grew up loving children, so naturally being a babysitter was my first job. I babysat children around my community, ranging from newborns to 10 years old. The maximum number of children I babysat while alone was 3, consisting of a little girl and her younger twin brothers. This family in particular was one of my favourites to babysit because their kids and I shared many of the same interests. I babysat them for years, and now that I'm away at school, I sometimes get a text message from the mother about one of the twins saying they miss me. It warms my heart to know we enjoyed each other's company equally. I find it so much more gratifying when you can build a relationship with the children, rather than just watch over them for a quick buck. I also often ran my church's nursery which consisted of more children, but parents often popped in and out, and the service was only about half an hour long so it wasn't anything too demanding. And other than those two jobs, I've just always been the designated baby-holder at every family gathering! Everybody knows I love it and they love how much of a baby whisperer I am.
