Dear future host family,

My name is Karla, and I'm so happy to introduce myself to you. I'm 23 years old, I am ethnically Mexican and Nicaraguan, so I grew up in a culture where family is the center of the universe. For as long as I can remember, I've been the "designated" babysitter for family, friends, and neighbors - caring for kids from newborns to 8th graders. Whether it's helping a baby sleep, guiding an elementary schooler's first big project, or being that trusted ear for preteen ups and downs, I truly enjoy being part of the growing-up process.

I've been a diligent employee since I was 18, working my first job through the pandemic, working two jobs during my first year in university, to attempt to pay my way through. Unfortunately, circumstances didn't allow me to afford my next three years, but my heart is still in earning my psychology degree one day. I hope to use it in child development and care. Although I am single and childfree, I've never shied away from being "the village" for people around me. It takes a village to raise good kids, and a lot of love to help them grow into great ones.

I want to become an Au Pair because it combines the values I cherish most: nurturing children, experiencing new cultures, and building meaningful relationships with family. I believe that hosting me would be a positive and life-changing experience for both of us. I'm responsible, patient, a great communicator, and probably the most important of all, I'm adaptable. My willingness to fit into your lives, to prioritize safety, and to always keep a transparent line of communication between us allows me to be more than capable for your family. I hope to not just become your Au Pair, but a trusted member of your circle, and a loving addition to your family.
