The children I have looked after are two and five but I have spent more time with the five year old so would say I have more experience there. Both ages have been fun and educational but in different ways, from the two-year-old I have learned what the child needs without them being able to say it, how to handle different situations tired ,hungry, etc. Even if they can't say it or show it clearly I can still understand what they need, of course it’s individual, but that i can read the signals much better than i could before. From my time with the five-year-old, I have learned that it is important to talk to the child about different situations that arise, that you always think of being as good a role model for the child as possible, because children are so open to impressions, therefore it is so important to encourage the children when they do something good.
I have also been a leader at football camp for two summers. In 2018-2019 (it is for 3 weeks during the summer) the children I took care of were aged 6-8. It was so fun and educational. It was edicational to keep track of so many children at the same time, make sure everyone was having a good time and getting along. I had to learn how to be a "fun friend" but at the same time be the serious coach and a role model.
The reason i want to become an aupair abroad is because the thoughts of helping out a family with their kids sounds like an ideal work for me. And I love being able to try and discover new things, so it feels perfect to both be able to do something you are passionate about while at the same time gaining a lot of new experiences.
I also want to explore a new country and improve my English.
