Hi! My name is Jane and I was born and raised in Toronto, Canada. I am an organized, balanced individual who demonstrates responsibility and leadership in all aspects of my life. In highschool, I played two competitive level sports while also maintaining strong academics and a social life. Now, I am in university, a part of two clubs, an inter-mural sports team, and as well, maintain a strong academic and social life. Throughout my whole life I have grown a love for children and have immense experience working with kids in different contexts. Along with other jobs, like retail, I have lots of experience with specifically children. I have babysat, been a reading buddy for underprivileged children, worked as a nanny, a ski instructor for young children, counsellor a day and overnight camps, and most recently, in the summer of 2023 had a manger position at Onondaga Camp, the camp I had been attending since I was 6 years old. In this position I managed 40 children and 8 staff throughout the entire summer. This experiences have shaped me into who I am. These have taught me the fundamentals of working with children, and have truly shown me that this field is my passion and where I can be my best self. I am extremely approachable, patient, and a fast learner. I am empathetic, and will always put the needs of others before my own. A big part of who I am is doing things for other people, and I feel that an au pair position abroad is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I will put everything into. I care for others, and am so fascinated by the world around me, which is why an experience like this is something I am so intrigued in. Next semester, (Winter 2024) I am doing an exchange semster in Brighton, meaning by the summertime I will have already immersed myself into the culture in the United Kingdom and will have had time to familiarize myself in this area. Staying in the UK after my semester abroad to work is something I am really interested in, and I truly believe I am the best candidate for this position.
