Dear future host family,

My name is Sukanya or you can call me Daisy. I just turned 24 years old last December. I live in a small town in Thailand. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree of Arts in English and Communication program. My native language is Thai, but I can speak English and a little bit of Chinese. I have been working with children for 5 years since I was at university. Currently, I am working as an English teacher at Happy Eng language center working with children in various ages of 4-18 years old.

The main reason that I want to join the au pair program is that I love being with kids. From all of my experience with kids, I found that I enjoy talking with them and seeing their reactions to different things. I love to teach them about things that they never knew before and share my knowledge with them. I want to become an au pair because I want to help take care of children to live and grow up happily, safely, and healthy. Besides wanting to help treat them to grow up securely, I also want to learn new things and my third language by living in a new environment, new society, and new culture that is different from mine where I grew up. I believe that living and spending valuable time with native speakers will help me improve myself and my language skills quickly. I am sure that joining this program will be beneficial for me in the future.

I also have many years experience working with babies, kids, and teens. I’ve worked as a teacher assistant, private tutor, and babysitter for the past few years. I taught basic English to elementary and primary students. After I graduated, due to the spread of Covid-19 that time, I decided to be a private tutor teaching English: phonics and basic grammar, for almost 6 months in my hometown. After that, I worked as a childcare helper for 3 months (350 hours) at Nursery Ban Einstein taking care of 8 children in the age of 1-2 years old in every aspect whether it be teaching, feeding, cleaning, bathing, and taking them to bed. I had a blast working there. And because of the rapid spread of Covid-19, the nursery was temporarily closed and I was offered an English teacher position in my current school. Then I jumped in, and I’m currently working at Happy Eng for 9 months now. Because of numerous experiences with children of different ages of mine, I can get along with the children very well. I love to be around babies, kids, and teenagers, either playing, teaching, or helping them, whatever their needs are.

Besides teaching, I have learned a lot of skills from this job, whether it be creativity, adaptability, problem-solving, or multitasking skills, which are very beneficial for me because I can apply these skills to be your great and trustworthy au pair.
