Dear host family,

Hope you are having a great day! My name is Qi, you can call me Vera. I am 27, living in the south of China. I graduated in 2016.07, my major is primary education. I've tried many different jobs so far after graduation, all of them are related to education industry. From 2016.09-2017.07, I was a primary school teacher, in my hometown Yichun city, Jiangxi province. Then I went to the US as an au pair for 1 whole year. From 2018.11-2020.11, I worked in an online English education company as a tutor in Shanghai city, then I moved to Hangzhou because my families are here. Currently I am a recruiter helping foreigners to get teaching jobs in China.

I am a girl who wants to travel around the world, always willing to try and explore. Being an au pair is a good chance for me to learn a new language, to immerse in the different culture, and to open my mind. Besides, I am also interested in how different the parents educate their children in different countries/families. To be honest, I've learnt a lot from my previous host families, and these precious experiences are really helpful and important to me.

I'm a lively girl and have many hobbies. I enjoy doing quiet activities such as making hand crafts, drawing, knitting and also outdoor activities like swimming and cycling. When I with kids, I love to play with them and take them to some natural places (farms/parks/zoos etc) where we can learn new things. I get along with kids very well.

Here is a sweet story happened couple years ago. On the Children's Day, I went into the classroom and asked the students,"What holiday is it today?" "Children's Day!" They all answered loudly. "Right!Happy Children's Day to you! I have some little presents for you guys. Make a guess!" They were really excited, "Toy?" "No." "Pencil?" "No." "Candy?" "Chocolate!" I said to them. "Wow,I love chocolaes!" "Me,too!"

I sent chocolates to all students and said, "Here are some excess chocolates,who wants these?" They all put their hands up. I smiled and said, "Everyone wants more chocolates,now we have a competition, I will give the rest chocolates to the students who listen most conscientiously duing this class!" Then we had a happy and interesting class.

In the afternoon, school was over. I sat in the teacher's office. A girl in my class came to me. "Teacher ,here is a candy for you. Happy Children's Day!" I was suprised, and laughed, "Thanks for your candy. But today is children's festival. I am too old to celebrate this festival now." "Yes, you can. We all are children. I'm a little kid, you're an old kid!" I laughed again, and moved by her simplicity.

Kids are cute and imaginative. But sometimes they can also drive you crazy. When they don't want to sleep, when they don't want to do their homework, when they make some mistakes, etc. I think the most important points are being patient, respect the kids, listen to them and help them grow.

In my free time, I like listening to music, driking tea, wacthing movies and doing outdoor activities. I'm a very easygoing girl. I like animals.I would like to go to the family who has animals. But I'm afraid of snakes. I like tea culture, and learned some knowledge of tea. If you are interested about it, we can learn together,I can show you how to make Kungfu tea.

I also have the weakness, when I get into a new place, I may need to take a week or even more to get used of the new life. My English is not good enough, but I keep practicing. I am also leanring German by myself now. I am not very good at cooking, I can only cook simple Chinese dishes but I would love to learn. I have a driver license and I am an experienced driver. If the host family needs me to drive, it won't be a problem.

If I become the au pair of your family, I will do as the au pair regulation requires. I will take care of the children meticulously, help them grow happily and healthily. Be patient and nice to them like a big sister. If you are interested in Chinese culture, it would be my plasure to share the Chinese culture with you.
