Hello Family,

My name is Katerina (Kat) , I’m 27yrs old from Vancouver Canada. I would love to be an au pair for your family.
I grew up in a big family, mom’s side is Greek, and dad’s side is German. So, as you can probably guess, a lot of people, a lot of food, a lot of noise, but also a lot of LOVE. I have a younger sister by 6.5yrs and 4 younger cousins. Also, with all the extended family and friends, there were usually 10+ kids at family gatherings and holidays. I being the eldest of all the offspring, was put on babysitting duty. Taking care of kids from the age of newborn and up, doing everything from cleaning after then, to helping with feeding and all other things. I have always been a kid person. Even when I am only a year or two older than a friend, they become my baby and I “The Mom”. All my friends have monikered me “The Mom”, I always want to help and comfort.
My experience with kids has been quite extensive. As stated, before the big family being eldest equals built in babysitter. I have also cared for kids outside of my family, work in those jobs have included but not limited to; planning and serving meals, organizing fun activities, helping with homework, and organizing bedtime. In another area at the musical theater summer camp, I did for 10 years. I was the go-to girl for helping with the younger kids, in regard to helping with learning lines, keeping calm and organized, getting them exited when needed.
I have also worked as an Education Assistant in schools for the past two years. Helping children with learning and/or physical disabilities in the classroom. Assisting with but not limited to; helping with feeding, toileting, schoolwork, play, physical activities, etc.
Once when I was 18, I was at a baby shower for a family friend. Another family friend was there, at the time she was 25 and only married 3 months. At a baby shower, as you can guess all the conversation was baby related. In one conversation labor was mentioned, the 25yr old went white in the faces from all the stories and me at 18 was fine and interested about the topic. A while latter while opening present someone said something, and someone said “Kat cover your ears. You are too young to hear this!”. My response was “I’m more ready to have a kid now at 18, then the 25yr old married person. I think I’m good”. Everyone started to laugh hysterically, and it just reinforced that I have been and always will be a kid person.
