I’m originally from Brazil, and I currently live in Japan. Living abroad has taught me a lot about adapting to different cultures, being open-minded, and embracing new experiences with respect and curiosity.

I have a true passion for caring for others. I previously worked at a daycare, where I was responsible for helping with young children’s daily routines, organizing playful and educational activities, and supporting their development. Currently, I work caring for the elderly, a role that requires great patience, attention, and compassion — all qualities that are just as important when working with children.

I want to become an au pair because I see it as a unique opportunity to combine what I love most: being around children, learning about a new culture, and continuing to grow as a person. More than just a cultural exchange, being an au pair is, for me, a chance to become part of a new family, create meaningful bonds, and contribute positively to your children’s daily lives.

I believe you should choose me because I am caring, responsible, and calm. I bring hands-on experience, emotional maturity, and a genuine interest in being involved in your children’s routine in a loving and helpful way. I am also used to living in a different country and adapting to new environments, which makes me flexible and open to learning from your family.

My Experience as a Caregiver for the Elderly & Home Sharing

I have been working as a caregiver for the elderly in Japan, where I currently live, and this experience has deeply impacted my personal and professional life. My responsibilities include assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, preparing meals, administering medication, and offering companionship. I have learned how important it is to listen with empathy, show patience, and create a safe and supportive environment for elderly individuals to feel respected and cared for.

In some cases, I’ve also shared living space with the elderly I care for. This has allowed me to develop a deeper connection, understand their needs better, and provide consistent, personalized support throughout the day and night. Living together requires mutual respect, strong communication, and a compassionate presence — qualities I’ve cultivated with care and commitment.

Why I Want to Work as a Caregiver & Home Share Abroad

I would like to become a caregiver and live with an elderly person abroad because I believe I can offer meaningful support while also learning from another culture and way of life. I truly enjoy spending time with older individuals — their stories, wisdom, and perspectives have always fascinated and inspired me. I see caregiving not just as a job, but as an opportunity to improve someone’s quality of life while building a genuine and trusting relationship.

Living with the person I care for makes the support more consistent and allows me to respond more attentively to their needs. It also allows me to contribute to their emotional well-being, especially for those who may feel lonely or isolated.

I’m motivated, experienced, and eager to bring kindness, reliability, and respect to a new home and community abroad. I also look forward to exchanging cultures, learning new customs, and continuing to grow both personally and professionally through this meaningful work.
