Hallo! Mein Name ist Genelyn und ich bin 19 Jahre alt. I live in sunny Dumaguete City, Philippines, and my house consists of my parents, our two dogs, and seven cats. I currently spend my time babysitting two lovely kids in my neighborhood, improving my German skills, and reading. I plan to become an au pair because I love working with children and to also immerse myself in the beautiful German language and culture. It would be a pleasure to care for your family!

**My personality**
My friends would describe me as trustworthy. They can count on me to be sincere and truthful in what I say and how I behave, so you can also count on me to be a trustworthy member of your household. I adore children and the German language and culture, and I look forward to the opportunity to combine these passions. I would be delighted to care for your kids.


**What I do in my free time**
I’m currently taking care of two children in my neighborhood. Their names are Shawn (3 years old) and Daven (8 years old). My responsibilities with Shawn are playing with him, making snacks for him, cleaning his play areas, and helping him keep good hygiene. My responsibilities with Daven are playing with him, helping him with his math and English homework, and performing light housework at his parent’s house. I also babysat my niece, ZM (8 years old), last year.


**My language skills**
Cebuano is my native language, but I speak English at an intermediate level and German at a beginner level. I am not as comfortable speaking German as I am reading and writing, though I am always eager to improve my spoken language skills and hope to do so during my stay.


**My motivation**
I once heard that your purpose in life is the same whether you work for free or for a living. Even if money were no obstacle, I would still like to take care of kids. Since I was a little child, I have always wanted to be an au pair, and my enthusiasm for this idea has only grown since our family vacation to Germany. One day, I aim to work permanently abroad, and I know that this would be a good way to test the waters. Childcare is a passion of mine, and I know that this is what I am meant to do at this time in my life. You deserve to find the best au pair for your family, and I hope you will consider me to fill this important role.


**My expectations**
I would prefer to be your au pair for at least a year, but I am willing to stay shorter if that’s what your family needs.
