Hello, my name is Roslyn. I am 20 years old (21 in June) and currently study Psychology in Scotland. I am looking for a cultural immersion this summer, particularly in a Family who speaks French.

I want to because an Au-Pair/ live in tutor as I love working with children and want to go out my comfort zone. Learning French has been something I’ve always wanted to do, and I want to learn about different cultures.

I am qualified as I have completed two years of Primary Education modules at University where we learnt the theory behind child development and how to teach children to thrive within their learning through building upon their own interests, and encouraging children through praise and encouragement. This would be particularly beneficial as I know how hard learning a language is, but also how rewarding it can be, Through my education module I have a PVG (a security background check in Scotland) which demonstrates I am certified to work with children which can be made available on request. I also have two years working as a leader for a girls Christian youth club of girls aged 6-12. I supervised overnight sleepovers, put on theatre productions and helped the girls with arts and crafts. I am currently working towards becoming a certified for Teaching English As A Second Language. Once I gain this qualification I will also be able to forward this to you. This would benefit your child’s learning experience as I will be able to draw from theory, and competently teach your child English through experiences, explaining grammar and hand gestures.

Although my French skills are limited, I am excited for this opportunity and would try my best to learn as much possible before the exchange through completing a Lingoda sprint course and through immersing myself with the family whenever possible. I would be able to create fun and engaging lessons for children and would be enthusiastic to explore nature or the city with children. I have spoken English as my native language so would be able to teach English as it is spoken.I was also apart of Scouts and have completed my Silver Duke of Edinburgh certificate so I love the outdoors and have had some experience camping.
