Dear future host family,
My name is Thomas, I’m 23 years old and currently finishing my third year of studies in communication and marketing in France. I come from a calm, friendly background and I would describe myself as an empathetic, responsible and cheerful person. I love football, music, cinema, and discovering new cultures.
I’m applying to become an au pair because I’m looking for a meaningful and immersive experience abroad. Living in a new country, improving my English, and being part of a family’s daily life—especially one that’s warm and open-minded—sounds like an amazing opportunity. I don’t just want to visit a country; I want to experience it through real connections.
Although I don’t have a lot of formal babysitting experience, I’ve taken care of young children from family friends a few times and genuinely enjoy being around kids. I’m a quick learner, reliable, and very motivated to help in the family routine—whether it’s getting the children ready for school, preparing meals, playing, helping with homework, or simply creating fun and calm moments together.
What I can offer is my kindness, flexibility, and positive energy. I understand the importance of trust when welcoming someone into your home, and I’ll do my best to make life easier, not more complicated. I’m tidy, respectful of routines and space, and happy to adapt to your family’s needs. If your children are learning French, I’d also be happy to support them with that!
