Hello! My name is Lucia and I am an 18 year old student looking to be an Au Pair for a welcoming family. Even though it will be my first time, I can assure you I have the qualities necessary to be the best Au Pair for your family.

To begin, I have always lived in London alongside my parents and 10 year old brother. My dad is half English and Italian and my mum is Venezuelan which makes quite a mix that my brother and I are proud to have because of how many different cultures it opens us up to. I am close with my family, so it made it a bit challenging to move away for university about 6 months ago but now, the experience is allowing me to grow much more independent. I study a Sports and Exercise Psychology degree in the hopes to one day become a sports psychologist for a big sports team, maybe abroad. Furthermore, I am a part of two societies, pole dancing and badminton, in which I play competitively for most Wednesdays. So I’d like to say I have adapted well into university life.

I consider myself to be a very adaptable, patient and caring person who enjoys helping others and so my enjoyment of looking after children stems from a young age with the birth of my baby brother. Due to a nine year age difference, I have first hand experience on what it means to partly raise a child and continue to contribute to looking after him now. Furthermore, I have babysat a three year old girl from a Spanish family for 2 years. During my time as a babysitter my roles have included preparing suitable meals, entertaining the children, and above all, maintaining a good level of communication between the parents and myself to ensure the children feel happy and safe. Through this experience, I have acquired several interpersonal skills such as remaining calm in stressful situations and maintaining a positive attitude which I can contribute to my role as an au pair.
