Dear host family,

My name is Efia, I’m 17 years old and I come from Manlleu, a small town in Catalonia, Spain. I’m so excited about the opportunity to become an au pair this August, and I’d love to introduce myself to you.

Since I was very young, I’ve always loved taking care of children. I come from a big family — we are five siblings! — and I’ve helped raise my younger brothers and my 5-year-old sister. I’m also active in my church community, where I’ve taken care of the youngest children and even helped as a volunteer monitor for kids aged 1 to 7. These experiences have made me mature, patient, and very comfortable with children of all ages.

I see being an au pair not just as a job, but as a chance to truly connect with a new family, support you in your daily life, and experience a different culture in a meaningful way. I would love to create beautiful memories with your children — playing, reading, going for walks, helping with routines, and simply being someone they can feel safe and happy with.

I’m cheerful, caring and responsible. I’ve helped in my family’s shop, which taught me to be organised and reliable. I speak Spanish and Catalan fluently, and I’m improving my English every day — I already have a B2 level and I’m eager to keep learning.

My dream is to study Medicine and become a psychiatrist one day, because I deeply care about people’s wellbeing, especially young people. I believe that love, presence and trust are what children need most — and that’s exactly what I hope to bring to your home.

As an au pair, I would do my best to adapt to your needs, respect your values and be a positive, warm part of your family during my stay.
