Dear Future Host Family,

My name is Capri, i’m 24-years-old, and currently reside in the beautiful city of Montréal, Canada! I appreciate you taking the time to read my profile. I apologize in advance if it’s a bit lengthy, I wanted to include as much information about myself, so you could easily get a sense of whether we’d be a good match and to make this process as efficient as possible for you :)

To begin, i’m a native English speaker, born and raised in a small, outdoorsy Canadian town called Thunder Bay. My childhood was spent immersed in nature, doing activities such as skiing in the winters, enjoying water sports at our lakeside chalet in the summers and playing sports constantly, all while being surrounded by my big, close-knit family. My siblings and I were lucky enough to have received our education in a fully French institution which is where I learned to speak the language. In addition to that, my Italian grandparents lived with us growing up, which is how I understand Italian and know good traditional food when I taste it! Italian culture was a very strong part of my upbringing.

My immediate family consists of my older brother, who works in wealth management, my younger sister who is still in school, My father who is a Chief of fire investigation, my mother who is a retired top realtor as well as business entrepreneur and our cute dog Louis who is a 10-year-old Pomeranian! Thankfully, all four of my grandparents are also alive and I make a point to fly back to my hometown as much as possible to spend time with them. Last year I spent four consecutive months helping my 96-year-old Nonno with dementia, transition into an elderly care home. I spent every single day with him, helping to feed him, bathe him, play music for him, remind him about the past and keep him company. It also gave me a new perspective on life being able to talk to all the other residences as they shared so much of their insights and wisdom with me. Family is the most important thing to me and I’m so beyond grateful to spend as much time as I do with my loved ones.

In terms of the Arts, I have been heavily involved in them since a very young age. I am professionally trained in 8+ styles of dance at a highly competitive level, classically trained in music theory and vocals, play both piano and guitar, wrote several songs with Grammy winning producers, am a trained actress who’s been on the Disney channel, performed on stages such as the prestigious Lincoln Centre in NYC, attended an audition-only arts school where I double majored in both musical theatre and dance, and raised over $10,000 for the Canadian Cancer Society through a song I wrote about my mothers battle with breast Cancer when I was 11.

At the end of the day, I’m trusting that whatever family I match with, is meant to be. I’m a kind soul who is hoping for a loving family to make a forever bond with. My goal is for this to be a beautiful experience for the both of us.
