Dear Host Family,
My name is Sofia, and I’m a senior student in Lomonosov MSU, majoring in Romance Literature and Languages. Having recently returned from a semester exchange at UMaine in the U.S., I’m eager to deepen my international experience — not as a tourist, but through real cultural immersion, everyday communication, and meaningful educational exchange.
The three pillars of my life are studying, creating, and sharing. This is more than a personal philosophy; it’s my way of contributing to a better world, through international and human-centered education. I see the Au Pair and Live-in Tutor role as a natural continuation of this mission: helping a family, supporting children's development and simultaneously learning from your culture in the honest and mutual way.
Why choose me? Because I’m not just someone who loves culture — I live it. Besides teaching English and Literature for high-achieving students for 3 years, I lead a unique speaking-club, speak at open lectures, organize creative workshops and what's more important I'm constantly evolving and pushing my own boundaries. Because the best way we can teach children is naturally by leading by example.
But beyond professional experience, I’m someone who genuinely cares. I’m attentive to the little things — whether it’s explaining a difficult grammar point with clarity or noticing when someone just needs a warm cup of tea and a listening ear. My friends and colleagues often describe me as someone who is responsible, empathetic and fully present in her work — and I try to live up to that every day.
Hosting me means welcoming someone who will respect your family’s values, communicate with maturity and warmth and be deeply committed to your children’s learning and happiness. I believe in creating real bonds, not just fulfilling tasks and in return I hope to learn from your way of life, your traditions and your language — not as an observer, but as a mindful participant.
Warm regards,
Sofia
