My name is Kaylee, I am 19 years old, going on 20. My entire life I have lived in a fairly isolated rural, religious community. I am Hutterite. I speak fluent English, but my first language is my cultural dialect “Hutterisch”, stemming aus Tiröl, Austria. My german is mediocre, as I am have graduated and am no longer taking german classes. I struggle speaking it, but can read, write, and understand it nonetheless.

In my Hutterite culture/community I have learned everything from pruning fruit trees, butchering livestock, to cooking up a substantial and varied (in dietary terms) feasts. I am enthusiastic about life, caring for animals and our dear old planet.

Having lived in an intentional community of goods, I have always been surrounded by people of all ages. I find meaning in sitting with grandmothers, learning from them, to taking care of children from different families whilst the mom is busy elsewhere; I am hardworking and dedicated to whatever I put my mind to.

I am open-minded, and approach children with a here-to-learn pov. My religion has taught me to appreciate the little joys children bring to the world, to respect their personhood, and autonomy.
