Dear Hostfamily,

my name is Denise, I’m from Italy and I'm 21.

I live in a small city in the middle of Italy, Rimini, which is about 1h from Bolonia. My city is very quiet, but I also like living in the city, and right now I'm living in Bolonia because I study at University.

At home we are 5: my Dad, who is a forklift warehouse worker: my mum, she’s a real estate agent; me, my sister, and my brother. My sister is 3 years younger than me. My brother instead is 6 years and when I'm at home I spend most of my time with him, because I really like play or talk with him, and I love him very much.

When I was younger my mum always wanted me to do some sports, so I started swimming. I did it for a few years, now I feel comfortable in the water. I’m not the best, but I can play soccer too. I grew up with a lot of boys, in my neighbourhood there were 3 girls and about 10 boys, they used to force us playing soccer with them when they needed a player. Then I took some modern dance lessons, but it lasted only one year. After that, I started volleyball. I was really into it. I stopped playing it because of the School, but I still enjoy it.

As regards other passions, I love cooking and I think I’m quite good. During the weekends I always help my mum preparing lunch for everybody with homemade pasta, gnocchi or lasagne.

I’m very organised and I like to create new routine every month.

I eat more or less everything, and I like to try new things.

When I was 15/16, I used to help a friend of my mum looking after her two little children. They were very energetic and sometimes it was very difficult to calm them down when there were some fights. We always tried to keep them active. Also, as mentioned, I have a 6 year old brother and very often in the afternoon, after school, I take care of him and his friends.

At High School I studied languages (English, Spanish and Russian) and economy.

When I finish School I went to University and I'm studying law.
But also I realized that I want to improve my English, I love to travel and I thought working as an au pair in a foreign country would be perfect to improve my English and learn a bit more of your culture.
