My name is Charlotte, I’m 20 years old, and I come from a small, close-knit town in Victoria, Australia. I’m currently studying Commerce at university in Melbourne, and I’m looking for a short-term Au Pair position from mid-October to December during my university break. I would love the opportunity to become a part of your family and experience daily life in your country.
Growing up in a big family, with three older brothers, a younger sister, and a younger brother, has shaped who I am. I’ve always been surrounded by the energy of family life and have naturally taken on responsibilities helping care for my younger siblings. This background taught me patience, teamwork, and a love for looking after others. During my gap year, I worked full time as an accounts administrator and also regularly babysat a one-year-old and a three-year-old, gaining hands-on experience with children’s routines, play, and care. I’ve also done casual babysitting for various families in my hometown with children of different ages.
I want to become an Au Pair because I see it as so much more than childcare, it's a chance to immerse myself in a new culture, share my own, and grow personally. I studied Italian in school and love learning languages. I believe living with a local family is the best way to learn and contribute meaningfully.
Families who host me will find that I am friendly, responsible, easygoing, and genuinely enthusiastic about working with kids. I love helping children learn, being active, and creating fun and positive routines. I’m also very comfortable assisting with school routines, playing outdoors, light household chores, and just being a cheerful and helpful presence around the home. I’m a naturally energetic and curious person who enjoys the outdoors, playing sports, and exploring new places, so I bring a lot of positive energy to every day.
I hope to spend some of my free time exploring the local culture and, if possible, traveling to nearby places on weekends. I’d love to have a balance where I can fully support your family while also embracing everything this experience has to offer.
I truly want to become a valued and trusted part of your household during my stay. Thank you for considering me, I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully becoming part of your family for a little while.
Warm regards,
Charlotte
