I have experienced different types of a care giver, as there are many types of different care in the UK.
I'll now explain the examples of each type I have been employed in and have experience of.
1) (elderly nursing home care) nursing home care is where the individuals in the nursing home need extra support such as 2 staff to help either bathe or dress, and includes individuals who are bed ridden, and the use of manual hosits and other equipment are needed.
2)(elderly residential care).. residential care is more laid back than a nursing home, due to the individuals are more able to be able to promote their independence a lot more, and maybe assistance is needed with things they may find difficult, such as bathing or dressing etc.. also as an escort to attend appointments for the individual.
3)(National Health Services)(I have experience within working for the local NHS and has been a mixture of different care needs, from working on a stroke unit, dementia unit, post op unit and other kind of different wards, which varies a different age range.
4+5)(individuals with learning disabilities or difficultys and also a live-in carer, this was helping individuals to be able to either live in a supported service, or be able to live in their own home, to which my help was needed to help with everyday tasks, such as shopping, appointments. Medication, handling of money, to escort to holidays and special events.. paying bills etc.. and also different clients needed 24/7 care to them I went and transferred to be a live-in carer.. so I would do 4 days on and 2 off or however the rota worked out. The longers I did was a whole month..
I would like to be a caregiver for any age or the elderly because not only would I be working abroad and seeing a different partsof the world, but also some people in life may of not had any children, or things may of happened along the way on life were now they are older amd find themselves alone, and that thought of knowing there maybe someone out there who really could do with my assistance and making their day a little brighter, and knowing they are not alone in life that makes my heart happy, and as I love to learn about things I don't already know maybe they would find some happiness in teaching me the cultures or ways of the country and for what reason etc. it's called being a human being with a heart and showing empathy but not pity or sorrow..as I really would love to learn new things before it's to late for myself
