Growing up in a very large family I have been surrounded by children my entire life, looking after my nieces and nephews for many years from when they were born until present day, making me comfortable around children of all ages. Furthermore, I was a youth leader at my church for four years where I was responsible for planning and executing activities for children as young as a few months old to eleven years of age. Additionally, for the older kids my duties extended to being in charge of overnight camps. This gave me many skills such as food preparation, multitasking, time management as well as communication between myself and the children as well as the other leaders. Moreover, I was a nanny for two young girls ages 2 and 7 for a year and a half, forty hours a week where I would look after them from morning to night, clean the house/keep it tidy, provide meals as well as small school lessons for the eldest. These experiences showed me how strong of a work ethic I am, how I am able to adapt to change as well as proved that this is the industry I would like to build a career in. That it’s not just work but something I enjoy doing.
