My name is Anna, my mother is Serbian, and my father british, both my parents moved to Zimbabwe when they were young and raised both me and my brother there, I’ve lived in Zimbabwe my whole life. I’m eighteen years old and I’ve just graduated High School, at Hellenic academy, a high school in Harare where I’ve just written my Cambridge A levels. I’ve been accepted into law school in The Netherlands, however, the bachelor programmes only start in September. Until then, I thought I’d use these next couple of months as an opportunity to learn a new language, experience a new culture, start working and earn my own money, and expose myself to the responsibilities that come with adulthood, as I will soon be living on my own as an international student during my university experience. Therefore, I would be so grateful to anyone who would provide me with the opportunity to became an au pair, and I look forward to getting to know another family. Before I work as an au pair, I’ll be volunteering at an orphanage, Dzikwa trust, where I’ve been volunteering since December - and so I do have experience looking after children.
I understand that a large part of the au pair experience for many families is the cultural exchange aspect. I’ve grown up in Africa, I’m apart of a large British community in Zimbabwe and my education is British, with a Serbian family I’ve often travelled throughout Europe - and so I’ve been exposed to a multitude of different cultures during my upbringing. Because of this I have a lot of cultural experience and a different perspective to share with your family. If you are looking for an au pair, I would love to work with your family!
