The reason why I chose Au Pair for the next step of my life is that I love taking care of children and they love me too :) I have 3 nieces and 4 nephews. My oldest sister gave birth to my first niece when I was 8 years old so I got to witness the process of taking care of a child since then. I played a close role in their lives when my nieces and nephews grew up and I was the biggest helper for my sisters. They are the most precious human beings in my life. Seeing a smile on their faces when I play games with them, making them excited when I tell stories, and witnessing their changes as they grow up is just priceless.

Taking care of a child is not a job for me. More importantly, it is about creating a connection with a child that they will appreciate and remember for their life. Love is a very strong emotion that children can easily feel and learn from. If you love and care for a child they will love you back. I always try to show them love and understanding. When a child makes a mistake it is not because they are "naughty" it is because they do not know any better. Rather than reacting angrily, I prefer to tell them what they did wrong and make them take small responsibility for their actions. For example, when my niece pours something on the floor or breaks something, I tell her it is okay to make mistakes but she needs to help me clean it. Because it is very important to teach children to be themselves and to be understanding and loving.
