Dear Host Family,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you about myself. My name’s Ani and I’m 21 years old Senior Year student at the Faculty of Law and State Governance at International Black Sea University. I’m from Georgia, Kakheti. I’d like to inform you about Kakheti. Kakheti is one of the most beautiful region in eastern Georgia. This region is famous for its nature, mountains, resorts and it’s the largest wine-making region of Georgia. Currently, I’ve been living in Tbilisi. Tbilisi is the capital and the largest city of Georgia. It’s located on the crossroads between Europe and Asia.

Additionally, I’d like to mention my current interests, goals and hobbies. I’ve always thought that the primary goal of undergraduate student should be raise level of awareness in any issue. Hence, I spend most of my time carrying out research, attending to a number of extra-curricular lectures in law, participating in variety project, scientific conferences and etc., which give the chance to develop on career way.

It should be noted that the self-development is as important as professional development. So, the activities I do in my spare time are: swimming, dancing, cooking, drawing, reading… I also love visiting natural areas and photographing some close-up shots of birds or people. I very much like to participate in volunteer activities that make me get to know others and share conversations with them and benefit from their experience a lot. It’s way to creative something new with others and apart from this, it’s good way to challenge the self. Also, I must mention that it’s nice to take advantage of the free time and acquire some new skills, so, I also tend to try out some new practices like gymnastics, playing tennis, playing chess or horseback riding. I love doing all these things but I’m still interested in short trips with friends or family. Because, I’ve driving experience, it makes easier for us to visit natural areas in our free time and spend evenings and trips half a day or a full day together. This is the best opportunity to have fun and make yourself more relaxed at the same time.

As regarding my family, I’ve a wonderful joint family. I’m from a family of four, I’m one of two siblings. My father Tamaz is 50 years old and he’s an engineer. My mother Tamar is 43 years old and she’s a teacher. My older sister Mariam is 24 years old and she has business management bachelor degree. We also have a pet dog – Rock, who follow our command obediently. All my family members love and respect each other. I can definitely say that our relationship is based on respect, care and love. We spend time with each other daily after dinner and enjoy. My family always support me. That makes me very happy.

To help you know my personality better, I’d also like to explain my childcare experience up to this point.
Firstly, I want to say that every time when someone asks me what a real friend means to me, I always say that real friends could be children because they are the most genuine and honest.

I have a lot of experience taking care of children because I love them so much. Since 2016 I have been actively involved in the upbringing of my cousins. They are brothers. Their names are Aleksandre da Mikheil and the age difference between them is exactly one year. My relationship with them includes both entertainment and cognitive-educational activities, such as reading, writing, painting, crafts, kinetic sand games, singing and other similar activities.

After I became a student at the Faculty of Law and state governance at International Black Sea University in 2019, I decided to connect my life with the field where I found myself comfortable and that was childcare.

My first experience as a babysitter was with a very smart, kind, sociable and beautiful girl. Her name is Anastasia Bokuchava. I took care of her from 6 to 8 years. During these years, I helped her to prepare lessons, I was driving her to school and in our free time we played together and walked in the park, we also did sports like running, jumping rope. Apart from school activities, Anastasia was busy learning Georgian traditional song and dance. The best thing I remember about Anastasia is that Anastasia was a child with amazingly positive energy, her eyes were always smiling and she wanted to dance all the time. Due to the fact that I am also very passionate about Georgian traditional dances, we shared our knowledge and experience in dance with each other.

I’d also like to tell you about my experience with Mia Tatishvili: she was a very intelligent, calm and shy girl. I took care of her from 4 to 5 years. I was driving Mia to kindergarten. We had a morning routine: I bathed her, dressed her, fed and took her to kindergarten. After kindergarten, she liked to walk and draw. Before bedtime, she loved to listen to poems and fairy tales. As I mentioned, Mia was an intelligent child and had an amazing ability to absorb information, which was really amazing and at the same time nice to me.

And a beautiful baby Martha Elizbarashvili, who came to this world only 6 months ago and I was a babysitter for 4 months. In the beginning, I was very careful with her, especially when I bathed her or fed her with milk and changed her diapers. She was a very sleepy and calm baby and spending time with her was a kind of therapy because of her calmness.

I really love spending time with children. So, I will be happy to spend a whole year with a host family. Au Pair Program would give me opportunity to get an international experience of childcare. Also, I believe that this is the best possibility to meet people from all over the world and learn about their culture and values. I hope that during my stay in the USA, I will be able to contribute to the community in the best way that I can.
