THE ROLE
We are looking for an Aupair to join our family at least from August/September 2025. For 6 to 12 months.
Your activities will depend on the day of the week but will focus on spending time with our 3 daughters:
- In the morning (one hour) you will help Dad or Mom to get the girls ready for school.
- In the afternoon you will pick one or two of the girls (rarely 3) to bring them to activities and do the homework (3 hours)
- You will have dinner and as any other member of the family after diner you will help to tidy up and prepare the girls for bed time (1 hour).
On Wednesdays in France there is no school and is “activity day”. In the morning you will get help from both Mom & Dad but after 8:30 am and until 6pm you will spend the day with the girls bringing them to different activities (Danse, English, Music…etc). In winter afternoons and if you ski we can envisage you joining the girls on the ski resorts (as part of a Ski club/association).
One every two Tuesdays you will drop & pick up our oldest to Spanish activity.
You will be in charge of helping the parents to oversee the girls when doing their homework.
Monday, Tuesday, Thrusday & Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm is free time for you.
It’s important for us that you enjoy your stay and we will do the maximum to help you to find activities to develop yourself. We have spotted a center that provides “French as foreign language” classes & other activities for young people.
We expect you get a maximum of your stay with us but also that you find the right balance between playing & talking in English with the girls, being part of our family and your social life.
WEEKENDS
As a minimum you will have one day off on the Weekends (normally Sunday). This past year we usually gave the 2 days most of the time but it will not always be the case.
What do we do in your day off? In Winter, we normally go to mountains while the girls do ski classes (2 hours). On other seasons we bicycle on the area (all day long), going to the lakes or to swimming pools. A lots of hiking too. We are into outdoor activities.
You are welcome to come with us, but based on our experience, we know that you probably will prefer to spend time with your new friends or in some occasions go sightseeing Europe (international airport is just 20 minutes’ drive). It’s up to you ! Sometimes, you will certainly understand that we would like to spend some days in family. It’s an equilibrium to find !
We are open to your needs and can adapt every weekend, but we will ask you before the weekend to give us your plans for us to organize accordingly.
On some weekends you will be asked to look after the girls. If done we will plan at least 2 weeks in advance and adapt week hours accordingly or provide you more holidays.
HOLIDAYS
Contract is proposed from end of August but date can be adapted until end of September. And for 6-12 months. We have had 4 aupairs so far. Our experience is that Aupairs normally want to have the possibility to sightsee Europe in Summer and chose then to go back to their homes. We believe is better to plan in that way and to adjust if needed in May
The holidays periods will be:
- 2 weeks in Xmas.
- 3 weeks in July or August
During the holidays is free time for you. If you choose to come with us on Holidays we will of course pay for everything but cannot ensure during this period for you to have a separate room. Will depend on the trip!
On the 3 weeks of July though we like to spend it alone just the family.
HOUSEHOLD ACTIVITIES
Your main role is to look after the girls and you will NOT be considered as a cleaning lady. we already have a professional one.
You will be part of the family! But as part of the family though we expect you to carry out typical household activities (like any other family member). We will share a list for you to comment & align in advance.
This will focus mainly on task related to tiddy up girls’ room and their clothes.
SOCIAL LIFE
We have had already 4 aupairs. we know you will blend in the Au pair life of Divonne. Plenty of other Au Pairs from many nationalities.
Our experience with other Au pairs is that starting in the year you will start making friends and starting to have your own social life. Which we will totally respect.
EXPECTATIONS
As a minimum:
- You are a girl, above 21 years old.
- You have a driving licence (automatic cars)
- You love working with kids, young girls in particular ages 4 to 8y
- You have experience babysitting. You can provide references.
- Your mother tongue is English or you have a good level (C1 or more).
- You have a minimum A1 level of French and you are looking to improve it.
- If you plan to stay until summer, you know how to swim and bike. If in Winter, you also know how to ski (but this one not compulsory as we understand is very specific and can be source of stress)
- You have basic knowledge of cooking. You know how to clean your own clothes, do light house works (as any member of the family). And are willing to learn with us.
Better if also:
- You have notions of Spanish or at least you don’t mind if father speaks Spanish with the girls mornings and evenings. Mum speaks french.
- You have had other experiences out of your home or expect to adapt yourself with our new family.
- You understand not everything can be planned in advance and some flexibility can come last minute.

- You will be asked to work up to 30h/week
- The salary or pocket money is 385€ (for EU). Payable directly to your bank account

We can discuss of financing other course (like tennis, ski or something else) but this should normally fall within the Aupair exchange program for you to improve your French skills. This is a request coming from the French Au pair program.
- You will be borrowed a device that will allow you to buy groceries related with the girls you will be looking after. This is done so that these expenses are also covered directly by us.
- If you ski and want to spend winter WE with us we will pay half of the ski forfeit (winter season in nearby resort).
