Our house in Parma is a good one in the very center of the city where everything is closeby. For our aupair we have one room and a bathroom we can dedicate. The rest are common spaces, in particular a large living room that can be used for many purposes.

Next to that we are originally from the mountains of Italy where we have another house and we usually go there in the weekend so our home in Parma is usually free during the weekend or we can have rooms available up in the mountains if the au pair wants to join us during the weekend and do some outdoor activities like hiking or skiing in winter time. It's 2-hour away with the car.

Parma is the city where we stay most of the time. It's a very nice city full of culture and history. Parma is known for the food (Parmisan cheese, Parma ham are internationally known). Parma is very strategically positioned in the north of Italy since many other locations are in a 2-hour car/train range such as Milan, Bologna, Verona, Genova, the sea side as well as the mountains.

Our second location is a very small medieval village (1000 people) in the middle of the mountains of Bergamo where we usually spend our weekends, where most of our friends and relatives live and where the au pair can come whenever they want. It's a completely different environment immersed in the mountains where hiking, skiing, biking and so on are the best options to relax and have some fun. The village has also a small ski station, very good for nordic or alpine ski practitioners.
