Hi interested Au Pair - We are Jenny (mum) and Josephine (daughter - born August 2023), who live in South East London, and are looking for some live-in help when ready to return to work after maternity leave.

We are looking for someone who has a generally happy disposition, that can fit into our new family.

Josephine will likely be 8 months when you start, so am ideally looking for someone who has experience of looking after a baby - whether it be with younger family members or worked with them in the past. You will need to be able to comfortably change a nappy for instance, be patient and gentle with eating and general mannerisms/approach as can be frustrating when Josephine can't verbally communicate (at the moment).

WHERE WE LIVE
We live in Lewisham, South East London. There are two train stations nearby with good links into Central London (15 minutes away on train). There are also lots of buses with routes to various places, plus the Docklands Light Rail, which also takes you into Central London too. We are on border of Zone 2 (and 3) from a travel card perspective.

We live in an area that has a small shopping centre and local markets, a few cafes/restaurants and parks/green spaces. We are not too far from Blackheath and Greenwich for larger green areas, or Deptrford and Peckham all of which have more cafes/restaurants/bars/cinemas etc. There are quite a few gyms in the area too.

There are also a number of colleges or learning institutes/venues nearby that have a range of courses. More available in Central London too.

Primarily am looking for someone who can look after Josephine whilst I am working. I am hoping to only work 4 days a week, at least one of those days will be away from the home. Whilst looking after Josephine, I would like the person to be able to take her out for walks/play (when she is older) and to some organised baby classes.

Whilst Josephine is napping, it would be helpful if you could undertake some of the cleaning of the house to include laundry. I am planning to get a seperate cleaner for more detailed cleans, but would want help in day to day cleaning maintenance.

The primary job would likely be between 30 hours, mostly over 4 days (not weekends). May also seek on occasional basis, additional childcare when I am not working and need to go out without Josephine (this may be a weekend (and with advance notice) but mostly Josephine would come with me).

INTERESTS
We like to explore London and make the most of the various parks, and free art galleries and museums, although I also have membrship to some art galleries (which you would be able to use). We also want to start heading our for longer walks in the areas outside of London (by car) and exploring smaller villages/towns.

I like to cook and try new receipes, although harder since Josephine arrived.

We like to travel and have already been away to Japan recently, and going to Poland soon for Christmas Markets.

We also like to have family/friends around, which may include festive get togethers/parties (that don't go too late into evening).

Alojamiento del Au Pair

OUR HOUSE
We live in a 4 bedroom (3 levels) semi-detached house (means we share one wall with a neighbour), with a small paved garden.

You will have your own bedroom with a double bed and wardrobe, and could arrange a desk if needed.

Most of the week it is just Josephine and I in the house, however my partner/Josephine's father often visits/stays a night or two (plus the weekend) and normally on a Friday, his son (6 years) would also stay (from Friday through to Saturday evening).

You would therefore largely also have sole use of a bathroom.

Josephine and I sleep on the top floor. Your room would be on the middle floor, with kitchen and living space on ground floor and an extra toilet.

We have WiFi and Netflix, Amazon Prime plus Disney Channel (on main tv).
