We are a family of four, and our 2 kids will be 5 and 10 by the time you are joining us.

Unsere Familie besteht aus 4 Köpfen, wobei unsere Kinder zum Zeitpunkt Deines Kommens 5 und 10 Jahre alt sein werden.

We have had quite some experience with aupairs, you are going to be our 5th aupair. Our current one will be leaving at the middle of August so for a smooth transition it would be very helpful if you could start in the second week of August, latest at the beginning of September.

Being able to ride the bike and to swim are a must-have.
Regarding the length of your stay, we prefer around 12 months.
German language skills need to be at level A1, preferaby A2, we (adults) also speak English fluently.
We have no pets and are a non-smoking household.

Wir haben bereits sehr viel Erfahrungen mit Aupairs sammeln können, Du wirst bereits unser fünftes sein. Unser jetziges Aupair verlässt uns Mitte August, so dass es für einen sanften Übergang von Vorteil wäre, wenn Du spätestens in der 2. Augustwoche zu uns kommen würdest, spätestens in der ersten Septemberwoche.

Fahrradfahren und schwimmen können sind ein Must-Have.
Wir würden uns wünschen, dass Du für 12 Monate Teil unserer Familie wärst.
Deutsche Sprachkenntnisse müssen mindestens Level A1, besser noch A2, betragen. Wir Erwachsenen sprechen fließend Englisch.
Wir haben keine Haustiere und sind Nichtraucher.

Descripción del trabajo

It is really important for us that you take good care of our kids (a wish every parent has) and that we maintain a good communication at any time - even if things are not going as expected.

Our son leaves for school at around 0730 in the morning and our daughter will be taken to the kindergarten by ourselves most of the times. Therefore you do have time to take German classes in the morning. In the afternoon, you might have to pick up the little one in the kindergarten and be at home on time when our son returns at 1600.
Thereafter you might have to help with homework and then it is playing time until one of us returns from work. There might be afternoon activities like dancing classes or WingTsun as well where you have to go with our kids. In the evening you will prepare dinner (mainly cold like sandwiches).

Concerning household you have to help out with keeping the kitchen tidy as well as vacuum cleaning or cleaning the bathroom on your floor once in a while. You are neither supposed to wash nor iron our clothes. In our understanding keeping the house tidy is a joint task and no one can be excluded, neither you nor us.

Wie alle Eltern wünschen wir uns, dass Du Dich liebe- und verantwortungsvoll um unsere Kinder kümmerst! Daneben ist uns gute Kommunikation wichtig, auch in Zeiten, in denen es nicht so gut läuft.

Unser Sohn geht morgens gegen 0730 Uhr in die Schule und meistens bringen wir unsere Tochter in den Kindergarten. Somit hättest Du vormittags Zeit, Deutschunterricht zu nehmen. Am Nachmittag wirst Du manchmal unsere Tochter aus dem Kindergarten so abholen müssen, dass Ihr rechtzeitig um 1600 Uhr wieder zurück seid, da dann unser Sohn aus der Schule kommt. Anschließend musst Du vielleicht bei den Hausaufgaben helfen und danach ist "Spiel"Zeit, bis jemand von uns von der Arbeit zurückkehrt. Ab und zu musst Du am Nachmittag die Kinder zu Freizeitaktivitäten wie Tanzen oder WingTsun begleiten. Abends bereitest Du dann das Abendessen (zumeist kalt wie z.B. Sandwiches) vor und isst mit den Kindern.

Bezüglich der Hilfe im Haushalt wirst Du uns helfen müssen, die Küche sauber zu halten und manchmal auch staubsaugen oder das Bad in Deiner Wohnebene säubern. Du musst weder unsere Kleider waschen noch bügeln. Wir sind der Überzeugung, dass der Haushalt eine Gemeinschaftsaufgabe ist, der sich niemand, weder Du noch wir, entziehen kann.

Alojamiento del Au Pair

We are living in Weinheim, a German mid-size town which is located at the "Bergstrasse". It is - by car - about 25min to Heidelberg downtown, 20min to Mannheim and 45min to Frankfurt. There are train connections to all cities.
We are living in a house with garden where you will have a comfortable 16sqm room which is situated on the ground floor with direct access to the terrace. There is also a separate bathroom with shower.
Secondary school is about 30min walking distance (however our son will go on his own) and the kindergarden about 20min. Grocery stores are located nearby. Walking distance to the train station is about 10min.

Wir leben in Weinheim, eine, für deutsche Verhältnisse, mittelgroße Stadt an der Bergstrasse. Nach Heidelberg sind es mit dem Auto 25min, nach Mannheim 20min und nach Frankfurt 45min. Alle Städte können auch mit dem Zug erreicht werden.
Wir leben hier in einem Haus mit Garten. Du wirst ein sehr komfortables 16qm großes Zimmer im Erdgeschoss beziehen, welches direkten Zugang zur Terrasse hat. Auf dieser Wohnebene gibt es auch ein separates Bad mit Dusche.
Das Gymnasium ist zu Fuß ca. 30min entfernt (unser Sohn geht aber selbstständig), der Kindergarten ca. 20 Minuten. Lebensmittelläden gibt es in der Nähe. Zu Fuß erreicht man den Bahnhof in 10 Minuten.
