Hi there,
We are looking for an au pair to live with my mum in a village near the West of Ireland coast. We live in a small village with 2 small grocery shops, a pharmacy and a coffee shop. We really want the au pair to be part of the family. There are 6 siblings and we all live away so the au pair/ caregiver is so important to us. There is a bus just 1 minute from the house that can take you to the towns of Ballina and Sligo at the weekends but public transport can sometimes be unreliable. there is an APP to track where the bus is. If you are a very good driver then maybe you could use the car sometimes but that is really dependent on a lot of things so I don't want to guarantee this. My mum is a really kind person and is great fun. She is so proud of her house and if the au pair was very energetic there may be opportunities to do other things when working with Mum. For example if the au pair wanted a change of scenery they could work in one of the local hotels at the weekends that is 20/30 minutes away by bus... There are 6 siblings and one of us will be home at weekends to look after mum. The sea is only 10 minutes away by car and it's so beautiful to go for a walk there. The village where we live is a place to get away from it all during the week and maybe immerse yourself in the busy life at the local town at weekends.. but maybe the caregiver just wants 1 job and just visit the towns at weekends for their own amusement. We've had lots of caregivers to live in our house over the years and it is ideal for someone who is self-sufficient.. Maybe someone into art or other hobbies.
