Dear au pair

We are happy that you found our profile. We are an Icelandic family living in the countryside in Luxembourg. By joining our family we would happily introduce you to two different cultures, Luxemburgish and Icelandic.
Our family consists of dad (38 years old), mom (35 years old) and our four children.
The kids are 3 years old girl, 6 years old boy, 11 years old boy and a 13 year old boy (who will need no care though).

The mom will be working part time but the dad is a pilot and therefore often gone for days/weeks. We are looking for someone to help balance the family schedule. We need help with babysitting and light household work.
All our kids are active and happy and get along really good :)

We have hosted aupairs before which the kids absolutely loved. They stayed with us in 2022 and 2023. The mom has been at home with the kids since, but is heading back to work now and therefore help is needed.

We hope our au pair to becomes a part of our family and will be like our daughter and a big sister to our kids :)

Description des tâches

With our family schedule we can offer you flexibility. However, as we are a family of 6 we do also need a set of extra hands to get through the everyday life.
The fixed hours would be around 6:30-9:00 o´clock. That would be the time to wake up the kids, get them ready for school and drop them off at the bus station for the school bus. Then again 3x a week in the afternoon around 15:00-17:00. That would be a time to stay with the 3 year old girl, and pick up the boys from the school bus.
Occasional other times that would always be discussed in advanced, for example if the mom has to attend appointments or run other errands.
We dont expect our aupair to clean, just light household work as a part of living together (kitchen, tiding up children’s toys and helping with the kids laundry). Just like in any other household. We are a family that works together to keep things in order :)

We expect the au pair to become a part of our family in a daily life. We hope she will become our daughter and the kids best friend and be willing to play with them and keep them happy with us, as that is our main goal :)

So your job within the family would be happily playing with the kids :)

Logement de l'Au Pair

We live in the countryside in a small town in Luxembourg. All around us are fields and farmers. It´s a nice quiet area and our kids love to spend their time outside. The public transport in Luxembourg is for free. As we live in the countryside, the bus comes 1x every hour to our village.

We have a private house in a quiet area around 20 minutes from Luxembourg city. The house includes cellar, ground floor, 2nd floor and an attic. Additionally, we have a big garden where our kids spend a lot of time playing.

2nd floor consists of 3 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The aupair will have her own room on 2nd floor. The room includes a queen size bed, a big wardrobe and a desk/beauty table. She will be sharing a bathroom with the family.
Additionally there are 2 more bedrooms in the attic as well as a bathroom, where the big boys each have their separate room.
