I have lived with my elderly grandparents for the past few years and my favourite times throughout my life have been spent with them. They are honestly some of my favourite people in the world. I would say I am definitely an old soul who gets along much better with people of an older generation. I was also extremely close with my great grandma who passed a few years ago who had quite severe Alzheimers Disease, so I do have experience with elderly people with complex needs. I spent many of my teenage years in the care home she lived in and found a passion there for taking care and giving back to the elderly. It was always so important to me that throughout her illness her dignity was upheld and she was treat with respect and kindness. I aso have loads of childcare experience through past babysitting jobs and volunteering at my old primary school. I would love to be able to do this abroad as firstly, travelling and experiencing different cultures is a huge goal and passion of mine. I think that through travel and meeting people from different cultures, with different histories, food, language and so on is incredibly enriching and beneficial for my own self development. I hope also that I may be able to share some of my own culture with different people.
