Dear future host family.

I’m Mariana and I’m 23 years old. I grew up in the active Mexico City where I currently live with both my parents, my younger brother, and our cute dog. We are very social and like having family and friends over for dinner or for Karaoke nights in our living room. My parents have raised us to value our time together, to be lifelong learners, and to see positivity around us. I currently work with my dad doing marketing for our family business and I aspire to become an innovative entrepreneur. I love businesses and thinking about creative solutions.

I’m 2021 I achieved a dream of mine. With a very big suitcase and a few Mexican candies, I flew to the United States to start my Au pair adventure. I got to take care of 4 wonderful girls, experience American traditions for the first time, and explore the state of Texas. My daily activities involved taking them to school in the morning, preparing a lot of snacks, driving to different afternoon activities, helping with homework and many crafts. During my free time, I either stayed with my host family or went out with my friends.

After a year in Texas, it was time to explore another part of the US so I moved to the lively New York City where I took care of 3 boys. I was also involved in everything related to school and I took them to after-school activities. While driving wasn’t needed in the city I used public transportation with the boys. I loved living there and there was so much to do. I also met a lot of friends so it was a bit less around my host family on my time off but we still spent holidays and shared traditions together.

I went back after two years living in the fun United States where I learned a lot about other cultures and different childcare approaches. I discovered new hobbies and activities I love doing like doing picnics or reading. I still keep in touch with both my host families and plan on visiting them. I’m now very open to new experiences and to meet new people, I enjoyed learning and explaining things to my host kids. Being back home has also been really nice but I'm ready for my next adventure.

I’m looking for a host family who can relate to mine. A family that shares a lot of happy moments and whose kids are eager to explore the world. While discipline is important I put more value in emotional well-being. I expect to be a close family member and a team member for raising the kids. I want to learn about your traditions and history and to share mine with all of you. I want to become a mom and to someday own a school so my ongoing learning about childcare and education is very important. Meeting friends and exploring other places provides learning so traveling is also one of my main goals.
