Dear host family,

Thank you for taking the time to read my letter.

My name is Harmita, I’m 26 years old and I come from Indonesia. Currently, I’m living in Steyr, Austria, where I’m working as an au pair for a lovely family with 3 children (ages 2, 3, and 4) and their cat.

Before this, I was an au pair in Weesp, near Amsterdam, where I cared for a 1 year old and a 2 year old child.

Let me introduce myself. I consider myself to be open-minded, responsible, funny, friendly, caring, patient, and empathetic. I speak English and German (my German is currently at A2-B1), which is another reason I chose to be an au pair in a German-speaking country to further improve my German skills while experiencing a new culture.

In my free time, I enjoy reading books, exploring nature with friends, taking photos, and staying active for example by going to the gym or riding a bike.

As I can arrange my working hours quite flexibly, I’m fine if you need me spontaneously, as long as you let me know in advance. I’d be very grateful if the host family could provide a daily schedule, as I’m sure this would help me adapt more quickly to your routines.

I’m currently taking a German B1 course to improve my language skills. I’m excited to continue learning and growing, both personally and professionally.

Expériences en garde d'enfants

My Au Pair Experience in the Netherlands and Austria

I had the chance to work as an Au Pair in the Netherlands for a year, living with a lovely family with two daughters and a friendly dog. My daily tasks were simple but meaningful, and I learned a lot about responsibility and Dutch life.

Every morning, I helped the kids get ready for school. I would assist them with getting dressed, pack their lunch boxes, and make sure they were prepared for the day. Sometimes, I would take them to the park to play, or we would visit the market or the library, which they always enjoyed.

I also helped take care of the family’s dog by taking it for walks and giving it attention. The dog quickly became my buddy, and I loved spending time with it.

On top of that, I helped with light housework like cleaning and doing the dishes. Even though it was basic, it helped the household run smoothly.

Being an Au Pair wasn’t just about the work. I got to experience Dutch culture, learn about their traditions, and bond with the family. It was an amazing experience, and the family became like my second home.

Currently, I’m in Austria, living with a warm family with 3 children (2 boys and 1 girl) who are 2, 3, and 4 years old. They also have a cat. From them, I’m learning a lot and really enjoy getting to know Austrian culture.

Every day, I help prepare snack boxes for the kids and get them ready for school. When they come back, we usually play together, ride bicycles, do some crafting, or go swimming. I also help with light cleaning.

My routines here are not much different from when I was in the Netherlands. The family is really kind and welcoming, and I feel at home with them. I’m looking forward to really enjoying my year here and making many beautiful memories together. ❤️❤️
