Hello, I am Katelyn, originally from the United States, but I have been living and working in Northern France for the last months. I look forward to becoming an Au Pair to further integrate with a language and culture and apply my past experiences working with children in a new context. I have a child-lead philosophy that I have always applied when working with children, and believe children should always be able to play and be kids and find the balance that comes with learning and play, and how they can be integrated. I have worked in Montessori schools in both the United States and in France, as well as nature schools and outdoor education programs. Recently, I have worked with children stuck at the French-UK border working to provide access to play in the humanitarian context with Project Play, as well as working with the Refugee Women's Centre supporting women and families at the French-UK border. These experiences have specifically allowed me to work with people from a multitude of backgrounds, languages, and cultures toward understanding one another. These experiences have prepared me to work with families from different backgrounds and work with people who come from different backgrounds than myself.
