I have been a nanny for two years in Nairobi where I lived with my host family during that time and looked after a 5 year child. It was one of the best and memorable moments of my life as I was able to take care of the young child each and every day for those two years and we were able to create happy memories together with the child and the family whom I still consider family upto date. I have also been baby sitting my nieces and nephews whenever I had holidays from school. Also, I have worked as a grade two teacher for one year and I was able to bond with the children as their teacher and also like their elder sister. I would like to be an au pair so that I could learn and experience a different culture home away from home. Where I can get to know my host family, help them in looking after their children and i could learn their culture and experience their way of life. I would like to describe my strengths as a future aupair as the ability to bond well with kids and also i blend easily with people from diverse backgrounds. And as a result i am able to mentor kids and help them grow up well in different aspects of life and also i am like an elder sister to young kids and with that we are able to interact freely with each other and also learn from each other. One of my weakness as a future aupair is that I find it hard to detach from people whom I get used to and they had become part of my family especially kids. My expectations is to get a host family who will accept me as part of their family.
