My name is Emily, I’m turning 17 years old in june, and I live in a small town near Frankfurt, Germany. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter—I’m excited about the opportunity to introduce myself and explain why I’d love to be your au pair.

Becoming an au pair is something I’ve thought about for a long time. I’m drawn to the experience because it’s a beautiful way to combine two things I care deeply about: working with children and learning about different cultures. I believe that living with a family and being a part of their daily life offers a unique, meaningful way to understand a new country—not just from the outside, but from the heart of a home. I want to grow as a person, improve my English, and build lasting connections with people from a different background than my own.

I’ve always loved being around children. At home, I help take care of my little sister, who is almost four, and that’s where my love for childcare really began. I also have a dog, so I’m familiar with routines, responsibility, and providing care and attention daily. Outside of my family, I supervise younger students at school, and I’ve completed an internship in an elementary school where I supported teachers and helped children with schoolwork and playtime. These experiences have taught me how to be calm, patient, reliable, and creative—qualities I believe are essential in a good au pair.

In addition, I hold a Juleica card, which is an official certificate in Germany for people qualified to supervise and care for children and young people. It includes training in safety, leadership, and child development. I believe this, combined with my hands-on experience, makes me well-prepared to care for your children and contribute to your household.

I’m ready to help with everyday tasks, support your children with love and attention, and bring joy, stability, and a sense of fun into their lives.
