Carta para a família
Hello! My name is Paula Garcia and I am excited to introduce myself as your future au pair.
I will tell you a little bit about me. I’m 17 years old right now (18 for when I start this experience) and I'm originally from Vitoria, Spain. I'm finishing high school this year and I’ve always liked children. Even though I want to study and dedicate my life to science I have always loved to work with kids and I would like to work as a babysitter, camp monitor… in my free time. I truly enjoy being active, whether it’s playing games, doing arts and crafts, or exploring the outdoors.
I'm actually in my last year of high school. I would like to take a gap year next year (25/26 school year) and work as an aupair while using this year to apply to universities outside of my home country.
I believe that being an au pair is not just about childcare but also about cultural exchange. I have always loved to know about other cultures, in fact, I did an exchange year in the USA, in Pennsylvania, which has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. I learned so much about the american culture and I had a great time showing everyone mine. They got me into so many American things, for example, sports. I truly enjoyed going to hockey, baseball... games during my exchange year!!! I’m excited to share my traditions and language with your family too while also learning from yours. I’m open to new experiences and look forward to trying local foods and activities together.
In my free time, I love to hang out with friends, meet new people, go hiking, play board games and watch movies. I also love animals, specially dogs!! My dog is named Yak and he is an Spanish water dog.
On the other hand, I lovve languages and I would loved to know more. I speak spanish and basque (a very old language only talked in the north of Spain) in my everyday life. I have been learning english since I was really young I got the opportunity to get better in it while living in the US. I studied german for four years, I have a really basic level but I would love to be able to be more fluent in the future. I also went to a french school for three years when I was younger, where I used to speak french everytime. Unfortunately, I forgot most of the language with the years.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you all soon, I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to bond with your children, share my traditions, learn about yours and starting this exciting adventure together. Please feel free to ask me any questions or share more about your family and text me if you feel like we could me a fit.
(Sorry I didn't notice it was such a long text!!! Hope you learn enough about me)
