Dear Au Pair,

This is Ben&Chloe's family from China. Thank you for being interested in getting to know more about our family.

Where we live
We live in a beautiful coast city in South China called Zhuhai, with easy access to Hong Kong and Macao. There are about 1.9 million population in our city, hundred of islands around the city. You can join the meet up to meet new friends from around the world, go hiking or camping with friends during the weekend. We live in the suburb, a brand-new community. The biggest library in Zhuhai is within 10 minutes by bike, 5-1 5minutes walk to the seaside with book & coffee shops, football field, art gallery, wetland park and the biggest transportation center in the west area of Zhuhai. The airport is about 20 minutes away, downtown is 20-50 minutes away depend on where you are going.

Our family
We have 2 kids, 4-year girl Emily and 6-year old Ethan. They both go to school during the day. They like drawing, reading and all kinds of hand crafts. Ethan likes to play Chinese chess, Emily likes to dance and sing. Sometimes we will play music at home and just dance with the kids and they love it. They have been learning English for a while and speak some English. We would like to improve their English while you are here, but we wouldn’t mind to have them learn other language like Spanish too.

My husband Ben works at a bank and is very busy during the week. I am currently working at home and very flexible on my business time. We would love to take you to anywhere we are going to and share our culture. But you are also allowed to go to explore the city and meet some new friends-and I believe that is why the Au Pair program is attracted to you!:-P

Ben and I are very open-minded, we love to share our culture with you. During some Chinese holiday, we will drive back to our hometown where is about 3.5 hour away from our city and spend some time with our family-grandparents. It would be the best time for you to experience a traditional Chinese culture and you will be welcome to join us.

Your responsibility
We will discuss the schedule with you when you come, but I think it shall be like this:
7:00-8:30am wake up the kids, get them prepared and take them to school;
4:00-5:00pm get kids back from school
5:00-6:00pm play with the kids outdoor
6:00-6:30pm English tutoring
6:30-7:00pm have dinner together
7:00-8:00pm play with the kids at home/take a walk downstairs
8:00-8:30pm take the kids to bath
8:30-9:00pm read to them before bed

Your job will be taking care of the kids and tutor them most of the time, light housework as needed. The kids looove to read!! We have many kids books at home and I will buy some more English books so you can read to them too! Since they are very active kids, I would like you to have some outdoor time with them every day. You can play balls, ride bikes or even just go downstairs to the slides with them.

You will have your full weekend and you can go to Mandarin class during the day.


Now the fall is here in our beautiful coast city- this is the best time of the year, sunshine most of the day and cool. We like to go to beach in the weekend, about 30-50 minutes away from our house, depends on which beach you go to.
