Initially when I thought about what I wanted to do when I got out of high school it was definitely not to jump right back into school. In high school I was very involved, I was the student body vice president and then later promoted to student body president of the school, I did DECA (an intensive business program for high schoolers) and took AP, IB, and Honor courses to challenge myself academically, I also ran track my freshman year and played volleyball. As much as I truly enjoyed all of these things I had a very big desire to go travel and work, but I just didn't know what work I wanted to do. After deep diving into options and a nudge from my mom, I discovered the world of Au Pairing and immediately knew that was the job I wanted. Throughout part of middle school and high school I nannied two little boys each summer from 7am to 4pm and I loved it. Although there were definitely good and bad days the joy of bonding with these two young boys was so worth it. Throughout those summers I learned so so much about kids and how to be a great nanny. The first few summers were spent chasing a spirited 6 year old around, with a year old baby on my hip and as a freshman in high school it was no easy job. Throughout those years I watched a little baby become a talking toddler and the 6 year old become an amazing big brother. Those types of connections and traveling is something I just cant pass up.
