Hi! I’m Harriett, 18 years old and from New Zealand. I grew up in a small town called Marlborough, surrounded by vineyards and the countryside. I’m the eldest of four kids and have twelve younger cousins, so I’ve always been around little ones. I genuinely love spending time with kids, whether it’s playing games, helping out, or just hanging out with them; it’s something that’s always come naturally to me. I’d say I’m pretty adventurous too. I love trying new things, getting outdoors, and just making the most of new experiences, whether it's travel, meeting new people, or exploring something different.

I want to be an au pair because I love working with children and being part of a family environment. Growing up with lots of younger siblings and cousins has given me plenty of experience, and I genuinely enjoy helping kids learn, grow, and have fun. I’m also excited about the chance to explore a new country that’s not too far from home while experiencing Australian culture in a hands-on, meaningful way. Being an au pair feels like the perfect mix of adventure, responsibility, and connection, and I’m really looking forward to the opportunity.

Although I don’t have formal experience as an au pair, I believe I’m well-qualified for the position because I’ve been around young children my entire life. I’ve spent a lot of time babysitting my younger siblings, cousins, and family friends, and I’ve also volunteered at local kindergartens, which has given me hands-on experience in caring for and engaging with kids of different ages. I hold a current first aid certificate, so I’m confident in handling emergencies if they ever arise, and I also have a full driver’s licence, which adds to my flexibility and ability to support the family with transport or errands when needed. I’m responsible, caring, and genuinely enjoy spending time with children.
