Dear Host Family,

My name is Ana Laura Oliveira, I’m 20 years old and I’m from Brazil. I’m currently a Law student and I also have a technical degree in Marketing. I work as a social media manager, creating content and strategies for different types of companies — from agriculture and real estate to food and decoration. This job has helped me become a very organized, creative, responsible, and committed person — qualities that I also bring into childcare.

I’ve always loved spending time with children, and becoming an au pair is a dream for me. I see it as a beautiful opportunity to grow, learn, and share experiences with a new family and culture. I had the wonderful experience of taking care of two girls for one year: a 3-year-old with level 2 autism and a 12-year-old. With the little one, I learned how to create a safe, calm, and loving environment, respecting her needs and signals. With the older girl, I helped with homework, organization, and fun activities. It was a special time that taught me patience, empathy, and how to truly care with love and respect.

I’m a calm and cheerful person, easy to live with, and always willing to help. I love cooking (especially sweets and Brazilian recipes!), playing the keyboard, reading, watching series, and riding my bike. I really enjoy doing creative and educational activities with children, as well as spending time outdoors. I’m happy to help with light housework and to be part of your family’s daily routine, always with care and responsibility.

I believe I can be a kind, fun, and trustworthy big sister to your children. I’m excited to live this cultural exchange, improve my English, learn your traditions, and build real and meaningful connections with you.

Experiencia con niños

I haven't officially worked as an au pair yet, but I have hands-on, meaningful experience with childcare. For one year, I took care of two amazing girls: one was 3 years old and diagnosed with level 2 autism, and the other was 12. It was a beautiful journey that taught me so much about empathy, patience, responsibility, and how every child is unique and deserves to be understood and respected.

With the little one, I helped with her daily routine—meals, hygiene, educational play, fun time, and special care based on her needs. Because she was on the autism spectrum, I learned to notice her signals, respect her space, and create a calm, safe, and loving environment. With the older girl, I supported her with homework, routine organization, and fun activities to boost her creativity and independence.

Also, I’ve always been surrounded by kids in my family! I love coming up with games, playing the keyboard with them (sometimes we create silly songs!), cooking together (expect some messy kitchens!), storytelling, movie nights, and bike rides.

I'm great at building strong bonds with children and I’m always ready to give my best to make sure they feel loved, safe, and happy. I'm excited to be part of a family where I can share joy, care, and lots of fun!
