Dear host family:

My name is Júlia and I am 25 years old. I am from Figueres, a beautiful city in the north of Spain. Currently, I live there with my parents. We all get along very well and enjoy spending time together as a family. Of 3 siblings I am the youngest. I am quite used to taking care of my little cousins and sometimes assuming the role of mother with them, but I have to admit that I really like having that responsibility.

I got my ESO degree, an Intermediate Degree in Restoration, UOC. I love languages and getting to know other cultures, that's why I decided this year to embark on this new experience of being an Au pair in the United Kingdom and it will help me learn English better, grow as a person and get to know myself better. I have also shared a flat and learned to be more patient and flexible with other people's habits and routines.

That helped me a lot when I went to work on the French border, I met new people and learned the language. From the first moment I arrived there, I fell in love with the place and that is why I would love to return again to live a beautiful experience, but now as an au pair. I have always liked being with children, it seems incredible to me everything they can teach us. I love playing with them and watching them grow, and that is the reason that led me to work as a babysitter on weekends during my student days. I used to babysit my cousins between the ages of 2 and 11.

I felt very lucky to be able to earn some money while doing a job I loved, but I also learned that dealing with children can be challenging at times. They have a lot of energy, so I was always looking for new activities to entertain them. I played different games with them, took them to the park or the pool, read them stories and we acted them out, but one of the activities I enjoyed the most was making cakes and desserts with them.

I am a very active person and I love outdoor activities, such as cycling, hiking, camping or just going for a walk. But my true passion is learning languages and understanding other cultures.
